January 28, 2015 Schedule

Delran Township Public Schools will be operating on a normal schedule tomorrow January 28, 2015.

Delran High School will have a full day of school, grades K-8 will have a single session day as previously scheduled.

Dear Delran Stakeholders:

Due to the inclement weather Delran Township Public Schools will modify our student dismissal procedures today at Delran High School and Delran Middle School.  This modification is necessary to ensure that student drivers from the high school arrive home safely and, in addition, that our students and staff members at Delran Intermediate School and Millbridge are not waiting unnecessarily for busses to arrive.  Please find that schedule below:

Delran High School:

  • Bus riding students depart at 11:30 AM (instead of Noon).
  • Student drivers depart at 11:45 AM (instead of Noon).
  • Students getting picked up do so at the normal dismissal time – please note, there is no change in this procedure for students or parents.

Delran Middle School:

  • Bus riding students depart at 11:30 AM (instead of Noon).
  • Students getting picked up do so at the normal dismissal time – please note there is no change in this procedure for students or parents.

Delran Intermediate School:

  • Procedures remain unchanged (12:30 PM Dismissal).

  • Procedures remain unchanged (12:53 PM Dismissal).

Again, these modifications were made in the interests of an expedient dismissal process.  Your flexibility and understanding are most certainly appreciated.

INCLEMENT WEATHER STATEMENT: Message from Bob Zirkle to all Primetime Families

Good Evening Principals, Assistants, and Administrative Staff,

With the upcoming snow I wanted to make sure everyone is aware of the YMCA’s policy regarding snow related emergencies. Please note that the YMCA will NOT operate the morning program if there is a delayed opening, and will NOT operate if there is an early dismissal. We will operate as normal if only after school activities are cancelled. (This ruling varies by school district please contact me if you have any questions regarding this.)

In order to facilitate the communication to parents about Primetime closing, the Primetime administrative staff will be reaching out to parents via email, social media, and phone calls in order to get the message out as soon as possible. In order to do that I have asked certain administrative staff at each school district to contact me as soon as closure has been made public. Once I receive this message I will pass the information along to my site directors and to our Primetime families.

Thank you to all of you for your excellent communication and teamwork with the YMCA Primetime program, and I wish everyone safe travels tomorrow and Tuesday.

Director, School Aged Child Care &

All Delran Township schools will operate on a Single Session schedule on January 26, 2015. However, given the unpredictable nature of the snowstorm, careful attention will be given to the conditions during the day.

Should it be necessary to make any adjustments, they will be communicated through Realtime, Twitter (@Delran_Super and @DelranSchools), WordPress (Delran_Superintendent), Facebook and the Delran School District website.

The Primetime program is cancelled for January 26. All after school and evening activities are cancelled for January 26.

I appreciate your flexibility and will be in touch with all Delran stakeholders throughout the day tomorrow.

Brian Brotschul, Ed. D

Support Delran Middle School by Voting in Follett Challenge!

Dear Delran Stakeholders,

Delran Middle School is committed to using technology to promote literacy and teach information literacy skills. Our media center program strives to support teachers and students through a 6th grade information literacy cycle class, collaborative teaching with the content area teachers, reading-based programs, and high-interest print and electronic book offerings.

Delran Middle School has entered the Follett Challenge which showcases and rewards educators who are aligning their curriculum and approach in order to teach the skills needed in the 21st century, and who are implementing a collaborative program with others in their school. In order to enter, applicants must demonstrate how the program is preparing students for the demands of the 21st century and complete the entire online application, which includes a 3-5 minute video about the program.
